Introduction:

Assistant Project Scientist , Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, University of California.

From 2012 to 2015, Guangxia Miao got his PhD degree in Biology, Kobe University, Kobe, Japan. Since 2016, he studied as a Postdoc Fellow/Assistant Project Scientist in Denise Montell lab, UC Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, USA. He is engaged in assessing the Drosophila border cells as a model system to study how migratory cells establish stable connections with new partners at their destinations. He uncovered the contributions of gap-junction-forming innexin proteins and microtubules to this process. This work resulted in two publications in Developmental Cell and Star Protocol, and one publication is under revision.
