The First Author Forum is held in Sars-Fang Centre
On June 6-8, Sars-Fang Centre invited Dr. Xu Chunlong, a young scholar from the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligent Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to deliver the first lecture of the First Author Forum. Dr. Xu's work focuses on RNA editing, and he recently published a research paper titled Programmable RNA editing with compact CRISPR–Cas13 systems from uncultivated microbes in Nature-Methods.
On 7th June, Dr. Xu delivered a report, sharing the process and methods of developing efficient and highly specific RNA editing tools.
After the report, the participating teachers and students actively asked questions and discussed the technical difficulties and applications of RNA editing in Marine organisms.
r. Xu Chunlong had a discussion with young students and teachers in the center, and shared his experiences and insights on the way of scientific research.
During the forum, Dr Xu Chunlong visited the SARS-Fang Centre.
